The red X3
This beautifull GS X3 is owned by Menno Spoormaker from The Netherlands. He acquired this car in December 2002, after being tipped by someone at an e-maillist.
The car was for sale at a Belgium garage near Leuven. Menno went to check it out and like what he saw. A few weeks later he borrowed a trailer and went to pick it up. As the pictures show, the car was in a good condition. It is an original Belgium X3 produced on Februari 22th, 1979.
It had run 93.650 kilometers when Menno bought it. The GS plate in the picture comes from the Citroën Dealer he bought the car off.

A GS X3 is one of the most rare GSs produced. As succesor of the GS X2, it was only a short while for sale from mid 1978 untill the introduction of the GSA in 1979. The car was already equiped with the 1299cc engine, that came with the GSA in 1979.
However the X3 engine had 65HP. Note that this is 1HP more than in most GSAs!

After aqcuiring the car it needed some work to pass the Dutch road test, in order to get a Dutch license plate. A little bit of welding, anti-rust prevention measures, some new tyres and a replacement bearring.
Furthermore the car received some optional treatment (washing and polishing). Underneath you can see some pictures of the renovation.

After passing the road test, in 2003 something bad happend. Someone ran into Menno's parked X3 without leaving a note. The pictures underneath are the sad result of this. The car was struck from the behind passengersside.
The rear bumper got dented (at the corner of impact and the long-midpart) aswell as the bodywork around the wheels. The booth was just upset, but the rearlight also got crushed. Luckely the car was good insured.
As by now it is repaired and once again Menno is cruising in his unique GS X3.
